Everything that changed, dated.
nTilia ships continuously, so there is no version number to remember. Each entry below is a dated release note covering the editor, the field tools, the AI suite and the public journal.
Read a Markdown file without the editor
A device .md file can now be read on its own, laid out like a published article, without the editor beside it.
New- Write · Side by side · Read: three views for a .md file from your computer, at the top of the editor. Read shows only the rendered text, full width, with the format bar and AI tucked away; saving and “Copy to my notes” stay at hand. Switch between Write and Read with ⌘E (Ctrl+E): you land at the same place in the text, and undo history is kept. nTilia remembers the last view for device files, separately from your notes; Side by side needs a wide screen.
Edit Markdown files on your computer, without importing them
In Chrome or Edge on a computer, nTilia can now open a .md file from your disk and write it back in place: no copy in your notes, in the browser or in the cloud. Files from Obsidian, Hugo or a download keep their YAML header exactly as it was.
New- Edit a .md file on this device: from the ⋯ menu in the sidebar, or with “Open with nTilia” from your file manager once the app is installed. The file is read and saved where it is (⌘S / Ctrl+S); nothing is stored in nTilia. If another app changed the file in the meantime, nTilia tells you and lets you reload or overwrite. Chrome and Edge on a computer only: Safari and Firefox do not let web pages write to files.
- The YAML front matter, the BOM and Windows line endings are written back untouched; only the body goes through the editor. Headers from Obsidian, Hugo or Jekyll keep every key, including the ones nTilia does not know.
- The same writing tools as for notes: the format bar, the floating bar when you select text, the link dialog (⌘K) and the live preview. Tools tied to your notes or the cloud (images, YouTube, glossary, note links, dictation) are not offered on a device file.
- Writing AI on device files, for signed-in accounts only and only when you ask for it: no ghost text while you type. Before the first excerpt leaves the device, nTilia asks once per file; the file itself is never sent.
- “Copy to my notes” turns the open file into a note when you want one: the note starts from the text on screen, your file stays untouched on disk, and a confirmation explains what changes (future edits no longer update the file; an export can always give you a local file back). The note is always a new one, even for a file exported from nTilia, and can be kept on this device only if the vault is on.
Improved- Leaving a device file with unsaved changes — opening a note, going to Settings, or using the browser’s Back button — now asks for confirmation first.
Fixed- Importing a .md whose YAML header lists tags the Obsidian or Hugo way — `tags: [terrain, enquête]` without quotes, or one tag per `- ` line — now reads every tag and category. Before, the first form kept its brackets and the second was ignored.
A sidebar that folds away, and a security review
On a laptop, the sidebar now folds into a slim column of icons to give your writing more room. Behind the scenes, nTilia went through a full security review, and every fix is already live.
New- Collapsible sidebar on desktop: fold it with the button next to the sync badge or with ⌘⇧S (Ctrl+Shift+S). The icon column keeps New, Search, All notes, Takes, your Mission’s dossier and map, settings and your account, each with a label on hover. nTilia remembers your choice on each device; on phones nothing changes.
- Getting-started tips: new accounts can receive at most two short emails in their first weeks, each showing one or two features, and only if they have not come back. Turn them off in Settings › Account or with one click from the email. Accounts created before today receive nothing unless they turn the tips on.
Improved- Your first publication goes live right away: it can be read and shared at once, and shows on your journal. A quick review by the nTilia team still comes before it reaches feeds, subscribers and the Fediverse, and you now get an email as soon as it is approved.
- Updates now roll out without interrupting the app, and roll back on their own if a check fails.
- Article share images are about ten times lighter, so link previews show up again in WhatsApp and other messengers.
Fixed- Share images for articles, journals and podcast covers no longer fail to load after a while.
- Asking for the PDF of an article that no longer exists now answers right away with an error, instead of a PDF of the “page not found” screen.
Security- Full security review of nTilia, with every finding fixed and deployed: stricter filtering of what published pages can contain, tighter access rules around your notes, your safe recipient and custom domains, safer PDF generation and federation, and modern browser protections. Nothing to do on your side.
- Two-factor authentication now also protects sensitive actions on the server side: deleting your account or workspace, changing Travel Mode or your safe recipient, managing your custom domain, syndication keys or subscriber exports. If 2FA is on, you may be asked for your code first.
Mission Pass: 30 days of Pro, paid once
For a mission or a trip, the Mission Pass gives you Pro and the background dossier for 30 days, with no subscription and nothing to cancel. Every purchase can now be withdrawn within 14 days, and what you publish on a paid plan stays indexed after it ends.
New- Mission Pass (15 € / $17): everything in Pro plus the background dossier for 30 days, with 400 AI credits for the length of the pass. No automatic renewal; buying again during a pass adds 30 days at the end. From the pricing page or Settings → Account, with a reminder email three days before it ends.
- Withdrawal button in Settings → Account: within 14 days of starting a subscription or buying a credit pack or a pass, withdraw without giving a reason. The contract ends right away, the days not yet started (or the unused credits) are refunded, and a confirmation is sent by email.
Improved- Articles published while you are on Pro, Pro+ or a pass stay indexed by search engines after your plan ends. Only what you publish afterwards on the Free plan follows Free rules.
- When a Pro+ plan ends, its custom domain now redirects (301) to the same page on ntilia.com, RSS feed included, instead of going dark. Shared links keep working, and the domain serves your journal again if you come back to Pro+.
- If your plan ends during a trip, Travel Mode keeps its safety tools — Recross, Evacuate offline and Send a copy now to your safe recipient — until you turn it off.
- AI models: quick actions on the Free plan (proofreading, ghost text) run on Claude Haiku 5.5 with low effort; heavy Pro+ actions and Extract with AI run on Claude Opus 5.5.
Fixed- A Pro+ journal with “redirect ntilia.com to my domain” no longer becomes unreachable after the plan ends, and a granted plan now stops on its end date.
Import your Obsidian vault
Bring a whole Obsidian vault into nTilia, as a folder or a ZIP. It becomes a Mission named after it, with titles, links, images and tags carried over.
New- Obsidian vault import: pick the vault folder (Import a folder) or import its ZIP. Each note keeps its file name as title, its [[Note|alias]] links and its images; subfolders, front-matter tags and #tags become tags. Without an active Mission, the vault gets its own Mission. Notes arrive as private drafts; hidden folders (.obsidian, .trash) are skipped and other front-matter properties are ignored, so nothing is published by mistake.
- Delete several notes at once: in All notes, tick the notes you want, or tick the box at the top to select everything the filters show, then Delete. Published and scheduled notes can’t be ticked; beyond 10 notes, you type DELETE to confirm.
- Undo an import straight from the “Import complete” window: the imported notes are removed, along with the Mission created for a vault.
Improved- [[Note|alias]] links now show their alias, in the editor preview and on the public journal.
Fixed- Markdown files without front matter no longer import as “Untitled”: the title comes from the first heading, or else the file name.
Audio versions of your articles, and a podcast for your journal
Pro and Pro+ authors can turn a published article into an audio episode, read section by section by a synthetic voice over the music of their choice, with chapters. Each journal gets a podcast feed and page per language, ready for podcast apps.
New- Audio version of a public article (Pro and Pro+): pick the language, a voice — reading voices for articles and essays, story voices for fiction — and a music style (none, piano, ambient, strings, guitar), with samples. Generation runs section by section and can be stopped; you can correct the spoken text first. 3 credits per 1,000 characters.
- Full-screen audio workshop: chapter outline, each section’s text and heading in large type, cost and duration per section, then episode assembly and publishing.
- AI summary for long articles (5 credits): a 5, 10, or 15-minute spoken version that keeps the article’s chapters and stays faithful to it. Redo it at another length at any time; the episode says it is an AI-assisted summary.
- Player on the article page with chapters and download, at a stable …/audio.mp3 address. The synthetic voice is always announced, and nothing is sent to the voice provider without your consent.
- A podcast for each journal and language: an RSS feed for podcast apps with cover art in your theme’s colours, and a podcast page listing every episode with its player. Feed addresses, Apple category, and an optional owner e-mail (separate from your account) live in journal settings.
Improved- Your journal’s tagline and role can be translated, and the index, tags, series, and podcast pages now share an image card drawn in your theme instead of the nTilia one.
A table of contents that follows you, and related-article cards
Long articles on the public journal get a table of contents that stays in the margin on wide screens and opens from a button on mobile. Section links can be copied from their headings, Academic sidenotes sit beside their reference, and a new card links to a related article or site.
New- Sticky table of contents in the left margin on wide screens, once you scroll past the one at the top. It underlines the section you are reading and unfolds only its subsections.
- On mobile, a contents button above “Back to top” opens the table in a bottom panel; tapping an entry takes you there.
- Copy a section’s link from its heading on a published article: the address updates with the #anchor and a “Link copied” check appears.
- “Related article” card, from the toolbar or the / menu: paste a link and the title, subtitle, and image are fetched from the page, all editable. Rendered as a card wherever the article appears.
Improved- Long tables of contents fold their subsections behind an arrow on the published article. Print and PDF keep the full table.
- Academic theme: margin notes now line up with their reference in the text instead of piling up at the top of the margin.
Fixed- Wide tables and long URLs no longer overflow the article, a #section link opens on the section, and translation updates carry tags again.
Custom journal themes, paragraph moves, and guided image search
Design your own journal theme and share it as a code. Move whole paragraphs with ⌥↑ / ⌥↓, find images with keyword ideas drawn from your text, and give Mission folders a French and an English name.
New- Custom journal theme in Settings → Appearance: three colours, a title and a body font (self-hosted, no third-party requests), and one of the core styles, with a live preview. Contrast is checked against WCAG AA. Copy the theme as a code to share it, or import someone else’s.
- Move a block with ⌥↑ / ⌥↓: paragraph, heading, quote, code, table, or list item moves as a whole, with ordered-list numbers kept and a single undo step. On mobile, two arrows lead the writing toolbar.
- Mission and Project folders can have a French and an English name: the editor follows the interface language and the journal follows the reading language.
Improved- Image search suggests keywords from the title, subtitle, and current paragraph, with optional “AI ideas” (1 credit). Results come six at a time with “Show 6 more”.
- Travel Mode moves to its own tab under Account and billing; the safe-recipient banner and e-mail link straight to it.
- The first publications of a new Free account are reviewed before they go public. Once one is approved, the account publishes directly.
Travel Mode you cannot be forced to undo
Turning Travel Mode off now takes 24 hours, unless your safe recipient approves it sooner, so nobody can make you reopen your notebook at a checkpoint. A seized phone can be emptied or burned remotely, by you or your recipient, and an emptied device is signed out. Your public journal can be hidden for the trip. Profile data that should have stayed private is no longer readable by other accounts.
New- Remote wipe: “Empty my other devices” and “Burn everything remotely” in Travel Mode settings. Each device checks at sync, before anything else, and erases its notes if it has not seen the request yet. A device that stays offline is not reached.
- When an account asks to turn off Travel Mode, its safe recipient is told by e-mail and by a banner in the app, with a reminder to check through another channel that the request was not made under duress.
- Safe recipients get an “Accounts that trust you” section: approve a requested deactivation, empty that person’s devices or burn their private cloud when they can no longer act.
- Hide your public journal: profile, articles, feeds, sitemaps, search and the fediverse return “not found” for everyone but you. Your safe recipient can hide it for you; only you can restore it, and never while Travel Mode is on.
Improved- Travel Mode settings show whether the private cloud was destroyed or is still waiting for a network.
Security- Travel Mode deactivation is delayed by 24 hours on the server. Your safe recipient can approve it sooner from their account; you can cancel the request. While the mode is on, the safe recipient and the missions you carry can no longer be changed to get around the delay.
- Travel Mode now requires the vault. Empty and Burn destroy the vault key before erasing, so whatever stays on disk is unreadable, then sign the device out once the server step has gone through (at the next signal when offline). A device emptied remotely signs itself out too.
- Profiles now expose only public journal fields through the API. Plan, Stripe customer, Travel Mode state and safe recipient were readable by other accounts; they are now visible to their owner only.
A calmer editor and AI you review word by word
The editor gets a single header, a “/” block menu, a Publish button that follows the article’s state, and an iA Writer–style focus mode. AI proposals open in a word-level diff you can retouch before accepting, and new AI tools arrive — from “Do no harm” to fact-checking. Settings and journal palettes are redesigned.
New- “/” block menu: type / at the start of a line to insert headings, lists, tasks, quotes, code, tables, images, YouTube, links, note links, footnotes, or formulas — filtered as you type. AI stays the first entry. Selecting text shows a floating bar (bold, italic, strike, link, H2, quote, AI) with mouse or keyboard.
- One Publish button whose label follows the lifecycle — Publish, Scheduled, Update, Published, or Archived — with scheduling, private publishing, reverting, and archiving in its menu. It replaces the “unpublished changes” banner.
- AI review in three views — Changes (inline word diff), Side by side, and Result, which you can edit before accepting — with +/− word counts and a clear “Nothing to change”.
- New AI tools: “Do no harm” (identifiable people, minors, precise locations, consent — high risks rewritten, the rest flagged), quote extraction from transcripts with speaker and timecode, fact-checking with sourced verdicts from web searches (Pro+), and Ask my mission notes with answers cited as [[links]] (Pro, vault notes excluded).
- Table of contents: insert [TOC] from the / menu. In the Research profile, long articles (1,000+ words, 3+ sections) get one automatically — [NOTOC] turns it off. Shown in preview, on the journal, in print, and in PDF.
Improved- Write mode now fades every paragraph but the current one, keeps the cursor mid-screen (typewriter scrolling), and hides the toolbar while you type. H1 / H2 / H3 are merged into a single “Paragraph ▾” style menu.
- Tools and actions share a single header row on wide screens. The status bar becomes a small pill at the bottom right (save · words · reading time), and a failed save now says “Not saved”.
- Properties panel reorganised into Note · Publication · Sources · Media · Outline tabs, with keyboard navigation and the last tab remembered. Publication shows a status card; “Chain” is now “Provenance”.
- The ⋯ menu is grouped (Note, Share and export, Help) with an Export submenu (.md, .pdf, .docx). Confirmations, errors, and long tasks (Zenodo, dictation, AI, sending to the desk) share one toast channel, with Undo for pinning.
- AI tags are suggested as chips you tick instead of being added automatically; titles offer Title only, Deck only, and More suggestions. Translate now covers 10 languages, and captions are written from the image itself.
- Redesigned Settings: grouped navigation (Workspace, Publishing, Account and billing), one theme picker for Editor or Journal, and destructive actions isolated in warning cards. Journal palettes are crisper and more modern across all 13 themes (Harvest becomes Clay).
- Without an account, the rail invites you to turn on sync instead of counting pending notes. Note metadata is decluttered, and “Not signed in” no longer appears in automatic sync.
- French pages no longer redirect to English; a banner offers the other language instead. Pro journals get their own llms.txt, richer structured data, and sitemaps limited to published languages.
Fixed- AI on the Free plan works again, cut-off or refused answers are refunded instead of shown half-finished, and long rewrites stream without timing out. Pro+ now runs on Claude Opus 5.
- Synced scrolling between editor and preview is smooth again — clicked text no longer jumps.
Prepare departure, a portable ZIP, and an All notes view
Before leaving for the field, one gesture syncs a Mission and saves its pack as a ZIP you can re-import anywhere. Exports now carry photos, an All notes view spans every Mission, sources can be imported from the note body, and code blocks render on the public journal.
New- Prepare departure for a Mission: sync (when signed in and online), then a plain ZIP of the Mission pack, with a banner when the pack is out of date. Travel mode (.ntilia) remains a separate gesture.
- Portable export: the workspace ZIP is the same Mission pack (notes, images, audio, takes, manifest) and can be re-imported into the active Mission. Photos now appear in DOCX, PDF, and EPUB exports instead of [caption] placeholders.
- All notes view: a flat list across Missions and folders, newest first, with search and Mission / status filters. The vault stays on the device.
- Import sources from the note body: headings, lists, DOIs, URLs, ISBNs, and APA references become a checklist, without overwriting or duplicating. Source dates keep a bare year (2018) instead of inventing 1 January.
- Code fences on the public journal render as editorial figures with line numbers and a Copy button, in the nTilia palette.
Write mode, optional preview, and a quieter desk
A shortcut folds the rail, inspector, and preview so the daily editor is title and text — plus the live recording bar when a take is running. Preview sits to the right only when you open it. Publication, Sources, Media, and Outline stay closed until you open properties — or after Stop. Storage, ZIP, and offline-model warnings are a single status line, not stacked banners.
New- Write mode (Ctrl/⌘⇧E, or the Write control): hide the rail, inspector, and preview. Escape returns. A running recording keeps its bar.
Improved- The Markdown preview is no longer a permanent desktop split. It opens to the right on demand, and stays closed by default on a narrow viewport.
- The inspector (Publication / Sources / Media / Outline) no longer opens by default. Open it from Properties, or after Stop on a recording.
- Local storage, ZIP, and offline-model (Whisper / Tesseract) notices are a single status line with a dot — not stacked banners above the editor.
Desk outline, Mission wikilinks, live citekeys, and submission export
Stay in nTilia from field notes to the newsroom desk: an outline with Whisper timestamps, Mission-scoped [[links]], local Zotero/BibTeX citekeys while writing, note skeletons, and Mission→DOCX profiles.
New- Outline tab in the inspector: jump to H1–H3 headings and Whisper [mm:ss] cues in the open note.
- Local bibliography (Better CSL JSON or BibTeX): choose a file in the Outline tab, then type [@citekey] — nothing is sent to the cloud.
- Note skeletons at creation: blank, 5W, interview, and lab method, with date / place / GPS tokens.
- Mission export for newsroom: journalism or science .docx profiles that aggregate Mission notes (alongside the existing recueil / ZIP).
Improved- [[Note links]] autocomplete and insert now cover Mission drafts (not only public journal notes).
Extract from Takes, Review on transcripts, and optional 2FA
Photo takes can be read on the device or captioned with Claude vision (Pro), a Whisper transcript can be reviewed with AI, and any account can turn on TOTP.
New- Extract on a photo take: local Tesseract (offline, English / French / Dutch) with page-aware preprocessing, a Photo | Text review with zoom, then a linked block in the open note. Extract with AI and Re-read with AI use Claude Opus 5 — Pro and Pro+ only, 5 credits, with a confirmation that the photo is sent to Anthropic.
- Extract with AI on a scene or evidence photo writes a Caption — what the photo shows — not only notebook or sign text. Same door and contract (Claude Opus 5, Pro and Pro+, 5 credits, Photo | Text). Tesseract stays the offline printed path.
- Review with AI after an on-device Whisper transcript (glossary and mission names), 2 credits. The audio file stays on the device; you still accept in Audio | Text.
- A dedicated AI abstract action, separate from the subtitle (deck / châpo): it fills the research abstract field once the note is long enough.
Improved- Takes panel: Extract is the primary gesture, OCR status is readable, more space in the list.
- Editorial journals: redesigned theme, a cover-led Une with dek excerpts and a digest slot, pagination, and a live gallery of the eight journal styles.
- Public pages describe nTilia as a notes app (French: application de notes).
- Admin console still requires MFA; it now shares the same TOTP helpers as regular accounts.
Security- Account settings: enable or disable TOTP, scan a QR code, and save one-time recovery codes. Login asks for a code only when 2FA is on — never at sign-up.
Open data in the background dossier and a publishable mission context
The background dossier gains a credit-free Data tab fed by public sources, and a reviewed dossier can now be published as a versioned, citable “Mission context” attached to a series and its articles.
New- Data tab in the background dossier (Pro+): country facts from Wikidata and the World Bank, humanitarian indicators from HDX (population, refugees, IDPs, people in need, INFORM risk, IPC 3+) and recent WHO outbreak news — refreshed without AI credits, each figure with its source, year and licence.
- Data lines are handed to the dossier generator as citable facts, and can be copied or inserted into a note as a Dataset source.
- Publish a mission context: pick the dossier sections to release (guide sections stay private, coordinates are stripped), attach the data sheet, choose a licence, and publish as a numbered version at /u/{username}/s/{series}/context — with Markdown twin, RIS export, print view, Report JSON-LD and a Cite block.
- Series pages show the current context; articles link the version in force when they were published and embed it as a PDF appendix. Zenodo deposit of a context version (PDF + Markdown, type report) writes the DOI on that version.
Improved- Mission ZIP exports include the data sheet as Markdown; the dossier PDF gets a Data section.
Zenodo publication types, translatable abstracts and this changelog
Research notebooks can be typed with the full Zenodo vocabulary, the translation workspace now carries the abstract, and nTilia gets a public, dated changelog with an RSS feed.
New- Publication type in the inspector (article, preprint, working paper, technical note, report and the rest of the Zenodo vocabulary), reused by the Zenodo deposit.
- Translatable abstract: the translation workspace shows the source abstract and lets you write the target one (autosave, publication, AI regeneration); the translated article page, print view, JATS and RIS use it, with a fallback to the source.
- This changelog page, in English, with an RSS feed at /changelog.xml and a Markdown twin for LLMs.
- Settings show the installed iOS / Android app version and build; the web app shows its build id. Native versions are now driven by package.json.
Improved- Zenodo creators are sent as “Last name, First name” as DataCite expects, with name particles handled.
Fixed- Public journal listings no longer show the source version of an article when a translation exists in the journal’s primary language.
Research notebooks, DOI deposits and encrypted third-party secrets
A full research profile for the editor and the journal, end-to-end Zenodo DOIs, and every third-party token now sealed at rest.
New- Research writing profile: abstract written at the top of the article, co-authors, typed sources, ScholarlyArticle linked data and an Academic journal style with numbered figures and margin notes.
- Zenodo DOI end to end: PDF + Markdown deposit, DOI shown in the Cite block, exports in APA, Chicago, BibTeX, RIS, JATS, Highwire and JSON-LD.
- GFM footnotes and KaTeX formulas rendered server-side on the public journal.
- New /research story page and a Research category on the Features page.
- Admin console for the SamionX team: database-backed role, TOTP MFA, audited actions, plan grants and billing overview.
Fixed- Zenodo file uploads are sent as application/octet-stream (the bucket API rejected other content types); the deposit banner shows in-progress, success and error states and prevents double clicks.
- Title and subtitle are capped at 300 characters so revision sync no longer fails on a database constraint.
Security- Zenodo, WordPress, Ghost and webhook secrets, plus the ActivityPub private key, are now encrypted at rest (AES-256-GCM, versioned key ring) in a service-role-only table, with a rotation script.
Safe recipient for Travel Mode, press-style AI headlines, new light themes
Sensitive notes can now be handed to a chosen recipient before a checkpoint, and AI headlines follow newsroom rules.
New- Safe recipient: ECDH reception keys and the .ntilia v2 format (passphrase + recipient), with retention rules for copies.
- Tag pages on public journals (/u/{user}/tags/{slug}) with 301 redirects from the old ?tag= URLs.
Improved- Writing profile picks missions, sections or series depending on how you use nTilia.
- AI titles and standfirsts follow press editorial rules (no colons, shared style between headline and lede), enforced server-side.
- Empty / Burn everything and .ntilia re-import are available on every plan; Travel Mode alone stays Pro.
- Light themes reworked as three distinct papers (Presse, Cuivre, Moisson); Soleil removed; a surface scale (panel / surface / field) shared by the editor and the journal.
Fixed- Dictation now shows why it failed instead of a silent click.
Localized article URLs, readable mission dossiers, custom-domain favicons
Every public article now lives at /{locale}/{slug} with translated slugs and tags, and mission dossiers read like a briefing.
New- Journal articles are localized per language (/{locale}/{slug}) with translated slugs and tags; legacy URLs redirect with a 301.
- Translation workspace: AI can translate the original tags or suggest tags from the translated text; busy state while the AI works.
- Custom-domain journals can upload their own favicon.
- Missions settings tab to list and delete missions, with a contents policy (keep / archive / delete).
Improved- Mission dossier: key points, Field / Integration tabs, map tab, sticky table of contents, collapsible sections, print and PDF.
- Imported .md files attach to the active mission and can be opened right away.
- Journal SEO: titles suffixed with the publication name, og:site_name and WebSite JSON-LD per domain; translation publish dates feed lastmod and the news sitemap.
Landing and journal redesign
The marketing site, editor, settings and journal styles were reworked so they read like a 2026 product rather than a template.
Improved- Landing redesigned as an editorial field-instrument page; hero focused on offline capture and approve-first AI; mobile hamburger navigation.
- Journal styles read as real press layouts: chapô and crossheads, a photo-led Une front page with a scrolling section bar, author page as a correspondent page.
- Editor and settings share one writing surface; distinct palettes for editor and journal themes.
Fixed- Public journal stays readable when signed out (Travel Mode row-level security split); editor title wraps on mobile; /u/ prefix no longer overlaps the username field.
Travel Mode
Sensitive notes can leave the device before a checkpoint and come back afterwards.
New- Travel Mode (Pro): empty the device at a checkpoint, keep an off-body copy, restore later — told on a dedicated /travel story page.
- Authors can set an article’s journal dateline from the inspector.
Improved- Only Markdown captions are shown under journal photos.
Proof on published notes, encrypted mission exports, author pages
Published notes can carry their sources and archived snapshots, mission exports are real ZIPs (encrypted when the vault is on), and every journal gets an author page and a digest.
New- Proof attached to a published note: opted-in sources, archived public snapshots and a readable photo/audio chain; every public update archives the live snapshot so readers can compare.
- Author page with a structured biography and public profile links; series; e-mail digest with branded letters and a subscribers page; recueil export; inbound Webmentions.
- Ranked full-text search on public journals and local notes, shown as highlighted hits.
Improved- Mission export writes a real ZIP that opens in any unarchiver; .ntilia stays an explicit encrypted vault copy. Field takes sync to a private bucket.
- Editor: title and dek scroll with the body; editor and preview can lock to the same Markdown block; wider article media breaks out of the reading measure.
Fixed- Journal digest is sent only on an article’s first public appearance, never on later edits. Field audio is no longer encoded in real time so Sync + export can finish.
Security- Mission exports are encrypted again when the vault is on, so a copy in Files is useless without the passphrase. Turnstile verifies digest signups server-side.
Version history, wiki links, glossary and syndication
Notes keep their full history with visual diffs, link to each other, share a personal glossary, and the public journal becomes a citable news origin.
New- Full note version history with visual diffs, vault encryption and cloud sync.
- Wiki-style [[note]] links with autocomplete, a backlinks panel and public resolution.
- Personal glossary with offline autocomplete and public tooltips, synced across devices.
- Public journal as a citable news origin: Cite block, correction note, licence, syndication to WordPress and Ghost, newsroom DOCX export, journal-quality PDF with a running folio.
- Note duplication and pinning; per-article and per-mission view stats with a live counter; keyboard shortcuts help (Mod-/).
Improved- Humanitarian mode widened into a field-sensitive mode for journalists and missions. Quieter sidebar chrome; inspector history shown as a timeline.
Fixed- Editor crash on opening a note (CodeMirror autocompletion conflict); PDF export hanging; false offline state on journal pages.
Security- EXIF and GPS metadata are stripped from photos before upload, even when canvas re-encoding fails.
Custom domains, account deletion, USD pricing
Pro+ journals can live on their own domain, accounts can be deleted self-service, and prices are listed in USD as well as EUR.
New- Pro+ custom domains for the public journal, with public URLs that drop /u/username.
- GDPR-compliant self-service account deletion (Postgres cascade, Storage, Stripe).
- USD list prices on the pricing page, with checkout in the selected currency.
- GEO: a raw Markdown twin per public article, public journals documented in llms.txt, stable @id fragments on Person and Organization JSON-LD.
Improved- Publishing publicly requires a cloud account and a configured username; Free-plan authors are warned that public articles are not indexed.
Fixed- Guest drafts are no longer lost on sign-in; invisible text in the typed-confirmation input.
Security- AI credit gating hardened against token-draining abuse; PM2 configuration hardened for production resilience.
Vault covers the whole local store, marketing split from the product
When the vault is on, everything in IndexedDB is encrypted at rest; the marketing site is served as cacheable static HTML.
New- Field / Terrain story page (/field, /terrain) with the Bertoua scenario. Four editor themes with distinct sidebar colours.
Improved- Marketing and product split into route groups; marketing HTML served as ISR; unprefixed URLs redirect to /en or /fr with a 308; share image for social cards.
- French landing rewritten so a first visit explains the product without jargon; English aligned.
Security- The vault encrypts the whole local store, keeps the key in memory only with a bounded auto-lock, and asks before sending vault text to the AI.
Background dossier and native tab shell
Missions can generate an on-demand background briefing grounded in field sources, and the iOS/Android shells get native tabs.
New- Background dossier (Pro+) on missions: staged brief grounded in humanitarian sources (ReliefWeb) and a worldwide local-news pass, with geography and verified reuse in drafting.
- Capacitor shells get a native tab bar and an online-only sign-in, without changing the browser or PWA experience.
- Scheduled journal articles go live at a future time without the device being online. 90-day AI credit ledger in a dedicated Usage tab.
Improved- Mobile editor: 44px targets, a single toolbar, title inside the writing canvas, properties split into three tabs, phone-like overflow menu and schedule picker.
