Lussan, at last!
Departure at dawn from Belgium, crushing heat and labyrinthine alleyways: the eventful arrival in the hamlet of Vendras, at the gates of Lussan.

We left Charleroi (Belgium) around 4:25 in the morning, in the middle of the night, no less! And after 12 hours on the road, including stops with the baby (because yes, with a little one, things don't move as fast), we finally arrived in Lussan, one of the most beautiful villages in France, no less!

Actually, we're not exactly in Lussan itself, but in the hamlet of Vendras, right next door. The landscape upon arrival is rather dry in this particularly hot summer. What pleasantly surprised us was the large number of olive trees in the scenery.
Once we arrived in the hamlet, we got a bit lost, since the streets are super narrow! These are truly old houses, with tiny alleyways, dead ends left and right... in short, not easy to find your way. But we eventually managed to find the access to our accommodation, "Jardin d'Élise"!
When we arrived, it was 39 degrees outside, a real furnace, to say the least! But good news, inside the accommodation, it was perfectly cool. Phew, we were hot (in more ways than one)!

After a well-deserved rest, tomorrow we're going to visit the town of Lussan and finally discover this famous village ranked among the most beautiful in France. We can't wait to wander through its alleyways, climb up to the ramparts and enjoy the view, which apparently is well worth the detour.
But tonight, we're catching our breath a little. After a day like this, we only want one thing: a good night's sleep, and baby is first on the list! We just took the time to put down our bags, breathe for a moment and savor the calm of this little corner of the countryside. The change of scenery is total, and honestly, it feels incredibly good.
