A community doesn't slide into sectarianism overnight. No thundering theological break, no official announcement. Just a slow, almost invisible shift. One day authority was shared. The next, it no longer is.

Look at how it works. In a healthy structure, seeking the truth is a path you walk yourself, with **your free will** and your personal study. In a system under control, this path is taken away from you. One man alone holds the map. You now have only the right to follow. The leader no longer walks alongside you: he becomes the mandatory channel through which everything must pass.

## First gear: doctrinal infantilization

Little by little, the surrounding discourse instills an idea in you: reading the texts yourself is not enough. Worse, it's dangerous — unless your reading passes through the filter of the leader's "vision." Make no mistake: **this is not a spiritual principle, it's a control technique.**

Your doubts, your legitimate questions, no longer receive a reasoned answer. They are relabeled as a "spiritual attack" or a "lack of submission." The message is clear: you are incapable of discerning on your own. As a result, you become entirely dependent on the interpretation imposed on you.

## Second gear: the shield of immunity

You know the twisted formula: "Touch not the anointed." This phrase is not a protection, it's a weapon. It smothers your critical thinking and exempts the leader from any accountability.

Opaque finances, abusive behavior, glaring contradictions; whatever you question, everything becomes a rebellion against God. Factual truth then has no say in the matter. The leader becomes untouchable.

## An architecture of power, not a mistake

We must call things by their name, without indulgence. A leadership that demands unconditional allegiance and organizes itself to neutralize any independent oversight is not acting under grace. It is acting under **manipulation**. This is not human clumsiness. It is an architecture of power, built to protect an elite, at the expense of the faithful.

True spiritual integrity does the opposite. It sharpens your critical thinking. It makes you more autonomous, never less. It never needs to crush your thinking in order to establish the authority of a single man.

So look at the facts, coldly, even if it shatters the image of a perfect community you had built for yourself. Freeing oneself from a controlling grip always begins with the same simple, radical gesture: **reclaiming the right to ask questions.**
