# About — nTilia > nTilia was born in the field: offline dictation, place and deferred sync, editing AI when you’re back — and a public journal anyone can follow day by day. Canonical: https://ntilia.com/en/about ## Write where the network ends. An app born from a simple truth: in the field, words must live without cloud — with place and time when you need them, and sync that waits for the network. ### An idea born on mission. David Herreman, founder of the AWAKEN DESTINY foundation, has long written in Markdown. In the field — where connectivity vanishes — he wanted a tool worthy of that format: simple, reliable, ready to dictate a note between two actions, with place context. Not another overloaded editor. An aesthetic, minimal interface. A tool that fits in your pocket, works offline, syncs later, and lets you export a full mission folder — notes, audio, metadata. ### Ntil — the writer. In Ewondo, a language of Cameroon, Ntil means the writer. The “-ia” suffix softens the pronunciation and gives the word an international, technological, fluid sound. nTilia thus stays rooted in Africa — and especially in Cameroon — while speaking to the world. ### Three gestures. Nothing extra. - **Markdown, and nothing else** — An open, readable, lasting format. Your words stay yours — yesterday, today, tomorrow. - **An interface that steps aside** — Aesthetic, minimal, calm. The tool disappears so what you have to say can take the stage. - **Ready for the field** — Offline dictation, optional place and GPS, deferred sync, mission folder export. Your drafts stay with you — on mission, on the road, anywhere. ### The field gesture — without depending on the cloud. Capture first. Sync later. Refine when the network allows — not the other way around. - **Dictation + place** — Raw speech into Markdown. Optional timestamp and GPS to anchor the note. - **Deferred sync** — An “N to sync” count shows what will push when you’re back online — without forcing the cloud in the field. - **Mission folder** — ZIP export: .md notes, audio clips, metadata. Local archive or team handoff, open format. ### In the field, capture. Online, refine. Writing starts offline — voice, place, raw notes. When the network returns, AI helps you shape that material: correct, structure, rephrase, research. Nothing changes without your approval. ### Write. Then be read. David also wanted a public face: a journal anyone can follow day by day. Not a noisy feed — a thread of humanity. Notes, stories, progress. So the field does not stay invisible. ### AWAKEN DESTINY nTilia is a SamionX product (Belgium). It lives in support of AWAKEN DESTINY — a Belgian private foundation that funds and accompanies aid and empowerment projects in Cameroon.
